This past Monday, January 8, 2018 as pastor I called this church to a cooperate time of fasting and prayer for the duration of 21 days. I have asked those that participate not to be legalistic in the type of fast that they choose. But to keep it   as simple and base as possible. The main thing is to just seek to Lord in private until
What we do in secret or in private will determine what is rewarded to us in public. What you do in private is the fuel behind your favor and success in public.
In Matthew 6 Jesus in preaching the sermon on the Mount the whole chapter is about how what you do in private will bring open reward.
He says pray in private
He says to Fast in private
He says to give in private
If you do Jesus says God will reward you openly
Also David had to overcome the lion and the bear in private before he killed the giant in public.
 
Jeremiah 29:12-14
12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive
