Colossians 3: 1-4
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. We live in a world where stress and anxiety are common issues in most homes. If it’s not about money then it’s about family, if it’s not about family, then it’s the job, if it’s not the job then it’s health. It just seems like there is something around every corner waiting for us to be anxious about. This scripture has a remedy for that. For what Paul is saying here is pretty much the same things Jesus said when he made the statement, “Wherever your treasure is your heart will be also.” When you become dead to this world, and alive in Christ’ your focus will change as well as your goals and priorities. Obviously we can’t become so heavenly minded that we are of no earthly good. But we can rearrange our thought patterns so that this life will not have such a negative impact on our spirits. Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
