As a young convert just experiencing the power of Holy Spirit and the unconditional love of God in a new way than I ever thought possible. I remember how I was so hungry for the presence and power of God that I would go to every and any church service I could find eager to learn and just stepping into what I would later discover was a call to preach the Gospel.
I remember going to an elder minister after a church service that I was in and asking how I could get more of God, how I could go deeper into the depths of my relationship with Jesus Christ. He looked at me and answered me with a question in return. He simply asks “How far and deep do you want to go?” I really didn’t know how to respond, he then explained to me that there are no stopping points or plateaus in the Kingdom of God. Meaning that you can go as far and as deep as you desire in God’s Kingdom and that it all depends on the level of pursuit of the individual. He also told me to go and stick my head under water and stay there as long as possible, until I had to surface for air or pass out. He then said for me to remember of my urgent desire for air was and that when my pursuit of God rose to the level of my desire for my next breath I would be well on my way to the limitless power and resources of my Lords Kingdom. Paul puts it best in this scripture: Philippians 3:12-14 12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
