From the Pastor's Desk
8 A highway shall be there, and a road,
And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness.
The unclean shall not pass over it,
But it shall be for others.
Whoever walks the road, although a fool,
Shall not go astray.
9 No lion shall be there,
Nor shall any ravenous beast go up on it;
It shall not be found there.
But the redeemed shall walk there
This passage of scripture is speaking of a way of life that God desires for us to pursue. The way that the prophet Isaiah relays this message to God’s people is to inform them that there is a blessed life that God has for all those that desire it.
This way is a way of holiness, it is a way where there is no fear, it is also a way that only those who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ can walk in.
The prophet specifically points out that you don’t accidently live this kind of life. A fool will not stumble into it. It is a way in which all of us must choose for ourselves. All though we will never be able to attain pure holiness outside of the righteousness of Jesus Christ. We still must choose to walk in His righteousness by our faith in His ability to forgive all our sins, and save us by Grace through Faith.
The proof is always in the pursuit. Whatever you desire most in this life you will pursue it. Whatever you love the most you will give your heart to. Whether it be a job, a relationship, money, power, or position.
Let us be as the Apostle Paul in Philippians 3:13-14 forgetting things which are behind and pursue the high calling of God in Christ Jesus
