Mark 9:29
25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!” 26 Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, “He is dead.” 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose. 28 And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, “Why could we not cast it out?” 29 So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”
The thing that I find most interesting about this demonic spirit that Jesus cast out is that it was a devil that Jesus specifically called a, “Deaf and Dumb spirit”. The demon that had control of this young man for so long, and that was set on destroying him was one that worked through what you speak and what your hear.
Now we know scripture tells us that life and death are in the power of the tongue, and also that faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. As a matter of fact this spirit was so influential that everyone standing there spoke death over this boy except for Jesus, for they all said “He is dead”. Jesus said this spirit that works through hearing and speaking is so powerful that it only comes out through prayer and fasting.
You know when this devil is battling you for it will enter though what you hear and the evidence will be through what you speak.
