In John 3:1-17 we see the encounter of Jesus with a ruler in the synagogue by the name of Nicodemus. He had come to the Lord at night because he didn’t want his fellow Pharisees to see him do this. The first thing Nicodemus said when he got to Jesus was that he knew that Jesus was of God because no man could do the miracles that Christ did unless he was of God. Jesus then began to explain unto Nicodemus on how to be born again or saved and even though Nicodemus believed that Jesus was of God he really struggled at this notion of being born again. Then the Lord explained to him that he was speaking of spiritual things but Nicodemus was looking at His words through earthly things. In John 6:63 Jesus said His words were “Spirit and Life”.
There are a lot of people who believe in Christ as Lord and God the Father and Holy Spirit the Comforter but when it comes to things that they face in their life they still look at their circumstances through the flesh and earthly things. The point is as long as you look through carnal eyes you will never see the spirit and life that Jesus died to give you. We must learn how to live by what Romans 4:17 says, “Speak to those things that are not as though they were”. In other words you can start saying what you have or you can have what you say.
I promise you if you will start looking through spiritual eyes and speaking through spiritual lips and believing with a spirit filled heart you will see a turnaround in your life and circumstances. After we get saved we become spiritual beings let us live on this earth as it is in Heaven.
1 Corinthians 2:14
14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
