John 8:12
12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
The scriptures are very clear that God is all about light. Jesus says I am the light of the world and James 1:7 says, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” There is no darkness in God the very first Word that God spoke over this world is “Let there be light”.
Coming into the light of God is not about condemnation, guilt, or even judgment. Coming into the light is simply the only way to escape the darkness but the enemy unfortunately through the church has caused men to fear the light instead of fleeing into it because the church over the years has been so critical and condemning of people. Since Jesus Christ is the Light of the World then the church as the Body of Christ is also.
I want to encourage you to bring anything in your life that is in darkness into the light of God’s grace and be free from guilt and condemnation. The only reason not to come into the light then is if you love darkness.
 
John 3:19-20
19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.
