Today in both the am services we will be receiving an offering for the purchase of another bus for the ministry of the church. As I was meditating on how to approach this need I began to think about the different ways. They will get it from an individual that desires to make the purchase as a donation, they will do fund raisers, or they will receive an offering.
The main reason I prefer to do large ministry purchases by offering is that is the way the church in Acts did it. They didn’t even know what a fund raiser was, and very few of them had the resources to give a large amount. So they all did what they could as the need was presented to them. The reason it was so easy for them to give is because those who believed considered everything that they owned as God’s Because they operated this way I have underlined four principles that were always present. Unity, Great Power, Great Grace, and abundance there were none who lacked. Acts 4:32-35 32 Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. 33 And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. 34 Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, 35 and laid them at the apostles’ feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need.
